This is the first location where the theft takes place, the shot

will be over the shoulder viewing the crime being committed.

This is one of the props, when Dan enters the room he sees Jason stealing from this box.

This is another location, this is where Dan will run up the stairs to enter the 

bedroom to see the crime being committed.

This is the birds eye view of where Dan will run up the stairs.

This is the location for the bullying scene, Jason will be waiting by the fence

for Oliver, and the shot will track over to the wall to witness the bullying.

This is the location for two scenes, the jealousy scene where Jamie sees Sarah and Jason together,

and the final scene where Jason is murdered in the woods.

Location

The trailer will be filmed in the same area to make travelling easier. I have decided to use my house as the main location due to the storyline. Firstly, Dan will catch Jason stealing from his parents bedroom, secondly Jamie will see Sarah and Jason in the woods where they sometimes gather in the shack they built last summer, Jason will be waiting for Oliver along a fence, where he can push him against the wall. The final sequence, the chase sequence will be carried out through the garden into the woodland area where Jason will be killed.

Character Profiles

I would like the three suspects to have different looks, so the mystery of who the murderer is remains the focus of the trailer. I would like the victim to be a strong character to make him an un-easy target.

Jason: Jason is the victim. He is a cheeky character who is full of life, but in the wrong ways. He has little moral values, and steals from, cheats on, and bullies those around him. He is feared by others and is seen to as the typical bad boy. He does not hesitate on his actions and does not feel guilt. He is a physically fit character which is also why he is feared by others. He is also very popular with the ladies but never sticks with a relationship for longer than a month.

Dan: Dan is one of three suspects. Overall in life, Dan is seen as a nice character who gets along with everyone whether they are good o bad, but his possessions are very important to him, he values money and his belongings. This is where his temper arises, seeing one of his friends steal from him brings him great anger.

Jamie: Jamie is another of the three suspects, he is very much in love with his girlfriend of two years, and does anything to please her. He is also a paranoid character and can be very protective over Sarah, his girlfriend, when it comes to her being around other males. This paranoia can cause Jamie to do outrageous things.

Oliver: Oliver is the final of the three suspects, although he is a physically large character, who towers over most due to his height, he is a victim of bullying. He has years of upset, and hatred building up inside him and is about ready to react. Seen as a timid character to others only he knows what he is capable of.

Sarah: Sarah is Jamie's girlfriend, they have been dating for two years. Although Sarah is seen as a nice and loving character, like every girl, she secretly loves the bad boy behavior of Jason. No one would expect Sarah to be a cheat, but people can do the unexpected.

My Idea

Synopsis:
For my coursework I am going to create a soap, The storyline will be the typical "who did it" murder storyline with three possible motives all linked to one death. Below I have posted several soap adverts which I think link to the overall view of how I want my trailer to look. The Hollyoaks advert, specifically the murder storyline is very interesting, with the way all of the possible victims are displayed continuously linking to the murderer. For my trailer I want it to be the opposite, the motives will be shown on screen followed by the death of a character, the advert will be specific to a storyline in the soap and not an overall advert for the series.

This advertisment shows that an event is going to happen due to the fire, it also displays the main characters of the event

This billboard poster is good because it displays all characters in the soap, the editing makes it look more like a cartoon image than an overall serious advert

Misfits Advert

This advert is fast paced, i would like my advert to also gain momentum like this as it is more likely to interest viewers.

Hollyoaks advert

Again this advert uses camera angles to show the villans and victims with close ups or medium close ups on their faces to show emotion. The worded screens confirm what is going to happen in the episodes that week

Evaluation of Hollyoaks advert

This specific hollyoaks advert is similar to what i want mine to be like. The camera angles portray the villans well and the title screens confirm what is going on. The theme of music for recent young adult soaps seems to be drum and base, this upbeat tempo will be perfect for a fast paced advert
